I apologize that I haven’t had a blog post in over a month, but we didn’t stop doing our themed dinners! Life just got a little much and I got behind. I told myself I would catch up during our mini vacation, but I worked harder on that trip and I didn’t have the energy to actual write anything when I was able to sit down. ButI am back and we have some fun themed dinners, including this one over the last month. No more excuses and let’s get started on this one shall we....

We decided the next theme movie was going to be chosen by the girls as well as the food, drink, dessert in the theme. They kept seeing a movie preview on Netflix called We Can Be Heroes and also some of their friends kept talking about, so that was the chosen movie. It was a continuation from Sharkboy and Lavagirl and about their children along with other super heroes children and how they have to save the world. It was overall a cute movie, but one I would t necessarily choose. Since nothing was known about the movie, the girls only had a little bit of help from mom to put It all together.

Also since, the movie was based on heroes, we decided to make our own Heroes and by that I mean sandwiches or...hoagies or...subs! We picked up the girls favorite sandwich meat- turkey, salami, pepperoni along with some sharp cheddar cheese slices. I also got pickles, olives, onions and everyone built their own Hero!

One of the superhero kids in the movie was know as Wild Card and they were dead set on having something to do with that. So after much thinking we decided to name our drink Wild Card Cherry Limeade! It consisted of some Limeade and some marachino cherry juice with a couple of cherries! For the adults, we added some vodka. Turned out really good!

The dessert was also based on one of the superhero kids in the movie named Guppy! This was the child from Sharkboy and Lavagirl. The girls came up with Guppy’s Pudding Cups! All I knew her powers with based on water, so we tried to incorporate that In there. We used vanilla pudding and coolwhip and turned it blue. This time it actually turned blue as the cool whip didn’t make the vanilla pudding as yellow as they last time I tried to turn it blue! Then we added some graham crackers that were fish shaped and coconut (if wanted). Adding the coconut made it a bit more adultish and actually tasted delicious were some adults had seconds!

Thanks again for stopping by after my hiatus! This was a fun one to do with the kids. Please comment below if you could be a superhero, what would be your super power?
