The Garfield Movie

I was shocked, shocked, when I saw that a new Garfield movie was coming out. This has already been done multiple times and didn't think that this movie would be done again. They also got a crazy cast for the voices in this movie. Regardless of a high-profile cast, this movie was just ok. I thought it was very boring and didn't care about Garfield and his dad. I think Tyler even fell asleep on the couch during this movie. However, my oldest daughter thought it was funny and good. Needless to say, about the movie, the theme dinner we put together was pretty fun!

If you know anything about Garfield, you will know he loves to eat and be lazy. He eats all types of food, but his absolute favorite food of choice is lasagna. So no brainer there on what to do for dinner. We added some garlic bread and a salad to complete the meal. My girls love any type of pasta, so lasagna went over well.

Our drink was based on Odie, the best friend dog a cat could ever have. We all know that Odie is smart and loyal, so we had to base something in the theme dinner on him. The drink was essentially a Mai Tai, but we made sure that we got a good separation of the pineapple juice and rum (or Dr. Pepper for the girls). It was an odd combination for the girls to drink, but they seemed to enjoy it! Overall, it was a success!
I knew immediately that I wanted Kyrie to make a Garfield cake similar to when we did the Sonic the Hedgehog theme. Plus I also have seen the new trends going around where you take a store-bought cake and then make it better. We found an orange cake with some fall decor on it. Kyrie took off the fall decor and then went to work. She dyed some vanilla icing to the desired colors she wanted and created a Garfield face. It turned out awesome and remember she is 13! I am terrible at the decorating part and knew it would be better than if I tried to do this.

Hope you enjoyed our themed night dinner for Garfield. I especially thought the dessert turned out cool and will have to try that trend again. Thanks again for reading!
