Can I tell you how much I really enjoyed this themed dinner? First- everyone enjoyed the movie. Jack Black always brings the humor and the charm (the girls also really enjoy him in the remake Jumangi movies). Second- the themed dinner was very easy to make (as you will see below). And third - the girls dressed up as rock and rollers (Kyrie had recently died purple hair, so it was perfect timing). As Dewey Finn says in the movie "OK who has food in here? You're not gonna get in trouble, I am just hungry"! Let's get on to the themed dinner!

One thing that I like is when we do themed dinners and there is a craft that goes along with the theme! This one was very simple, but it was fun! Since this movie takes place in a school, what better than a nice paper brown sack lunch. I had the girls decorate a bag for each of us. Once decorated, we put in peanut butter (and some with jelly) sandwiches in the shape of a star! I envision this is how true star rockers eat. They also got to pick a bag of chips as well as some veggies that were presented to them in a music note shape to complete the meal.

The drink was super fun! I was searching on Pinterest and found this fun Pop Rock Martini https://www.bitememore.com/drink-recipes/pop-rocks-martini-recipe. I went to a local candy shop and picked up some Pop Rocks. We surprisingly had the rest of the ingredients: lemon vodka, blue curaçao, and fruit punch. We even put the Pop Rocks around the rim of the glass. For the girls drink, we mixed the fruit punch along with some blue Gatorade. Girls loved the Pop Rocks and ended up eating some by themselves! I enjoyed the fun teal color it created as well!

We thought and thought what to do for this theme dessert and once we came up with the idea, we knew it was prefect! We made a big chocolate chip cookie and decorated it to look like a record (even though I am not sure my kids know what a record it)! Perfect tie in and chocolate chip cookies are always a yummy win!
