When you think of the Shrek franchise, you think Shrek, Donkey and of course Puss in Boots. We especially enjoy when he gives the adorable cat face. I was a little shocked that they came out with another Puss in Boots movie, but this was overall super cute and maybe.....closed his story or maybe not.

I knew right away for this movie I wanted empanadas for the meal. We have tried to make them in the past and although the inside part was delicious our dough didn't turn out so good. So we instead decided to go with a local AZ Empanada restaurant (called Republica Empanada) and I am glad we did. The girls loved them! Tyler and I have eaten there before, but the girls never had. We will have to go back there as it's nice to find places we all can eat. We paired this with some cheese rice to compelete the meal.

We thought for only a second what type of drink to make for this theme. Since Puss in Boots is (spoiler alert) a cat and cats obviously like milk, we had to make a milkshake. For the adults, we had Rumchata. We picked up a premade bottle at the store and drank that. For the girls it was a plan vanilla milkshake. Surprisingly only one child liked it and one didn't as she oddly doesn't like milk even when you are adding vanilla ice cream to it.

Again, the dessert idea came to my mind immediately and it's something we haven't had for a theme before, Churros. I also didn't make them but rather bought them at Costco. Most of the time, we make the dessert, but sometimes we outsource. So the dessert for this theme was churros. I did make the yummy chocolate dipping sauce that went with it, for those who wanted. I tried to display the churros and sauce to look like a cat face which got a smile out of the girls. I thought it turned out cute and was an easy dessert.
