Funny enough my girls have never really seen the old Disney cartoon Pinocchio- at least not with us. So when I saw it was being remade into a live action, I thought let's do a theme on it! Never hurts to reiterate some of the lessons in the movie. The movie was good just like the cartoon. My girls seemed to enjoy it, however, not sure if the lessons Pinocchio learns stayed with them. They did like the theme food though, well at least the dinner and drink. Tyler and I loved the dessert which I will get into shortly!

Let me first start with the dinner. Kyrie made these with me and they turned out delicious! We had Stromboli's Chicken Parm Stromboli. Chicken Parmesan is something we don't ever eat in the house, surprisingly, so I thought it would be fun to try in a Stromboli. Glad I went with it as the girls gobbled it up. We went with a store bought dough and then Kyrie filled it up with pizza sauce, cheese and shredded rotassiare chicken . She rolled it up and finished with some seasonings (Italian and garlic) and cheese on top. Again everyone ate it and it was something different for the girls to try, so a win!

The drink was an homage to Monstro the blue sperm whale in Pinocchio. For the adult version, we had blue curaçao, dark rum and pineapple juice. The girls drink was pineapple juice and a Calypso lemonade that we have in AZ and is blue. Both drinks were a success and seconds were served!

For the dessert, we went with a no bake tiramisu and it was so good, we made it for our Christmas dinner the following month. It is super easy to make and was so yummy! Jules helped me on this one and we followed this recipe
https://tastesbetterfromscratch.com/easy-tiramisu/. Jules loved eating the marscopone filling but not so much the tiramisu. She didn't like the coffee taste. It was even better the next day!
I hope you enjoyed the themed dinner and maybe got some ideas for your own! I hope you also enjoyed the new Pinocchio movie with Tom Hanks. Until next time!
