I like to try and do our theme dinners for some movies around the holidays and season, so I have been waiting on this one for a couple of months. I saw Peter Rabbit 2 get added to Netflix around January/February, but wanted to do it around Springtime. When we finally got to it, I think everything was executed perfectly. The movie itself was ok, I thought the first one was adorable and funny. But I think the franchise was just trying to do a sequel and the story line could have been better. These theme ideas again, can be done for Peter Rabbit, Spring or Easter. Enjoy!

Tyler and I both really like chicken salad, so when I saw these carrot rolls on Pinterest, I knew putting these together would be fantastic for this theme. Making the rolls is really simple. You take crescent rolls and wrap them around tin foil shaped like cones. Bake them as usual and when they come out, they look like carrots. For the chicken salad, I bought a rotaissaire chicken and took off all the meat and shredded it into pieces. I mixed together mayonnaise, mustard, celery, walnuts and chives with the shredded chicken and let it sit for at least an hour. When it was time to eat, I stuffed the chicken salad into the carrot rolls. Turned out delicious and awesome looking. Since I knew the girls wouldn't eat the chicken salad, I cooked hot dogs, cut them in half and stuff them into the carrot rolls. Girls loved this just as much as we loved the chicken salad! We also made a plate of various veggies that we stole from McGregor's Garden.

The drink was cute and I knew it was not going to be a hit with the girls. Mostly because it contained coconut and the girls are not crazy about it. I found the recipe on Pinterest and it was the Cottontail martini (of course we made it with no alcohol for the girls) It was perfect for our theme as it looked like a little bunny! It contains vanilla vodka, coconut rum, half and half, cream of coconut and a little bit of pineapple juice. To top it off you add coconut to the rim and a marshmallow for the bunny tail! Tyler and I thought it was delicious! Something I would probably have never tried otherwise. Girls took one sip and that was all.

I have always wanted to make a rabbit cake for Easter and this theme was the perfect time for it. I choose a carrot cake to go along with the theme. I made two cakes and cut it up to shape like a bunny. I made a cream cheese frosting and colored it various colors to make our Peter I Rabbit. Tyler did the decorating as I am not very good at that part. It turned out good and definitely looks like a rabbit and the blue coat helps identify it as Peter Rabbit! The cake itself turned out great as well.

Thanks again for readig about our Peter Rabbit themed dinners Tell me below what you thought of the theme dinner! Also tell me which Peter Rabbit you liked better, 1 or 2?
