Ok so secretly this is one of my favorite children’s shows that I enjoyed when the girls were little- the second being Fineas and Ferb (Tyler’s favorite). There were always great stories about friendship, very thoughtful characters and plenty of dialogue for adults. So when I saw that they were making a new movie with new ponies, I knew we were going to do a theme on it. We all thought this movie was entertaining, especially with our favorite Ken Jeong. The girls even watched it multiple times over the weekend.

This was one of our themes where the dinner portion was from a restaurant instead of me or Tyler making it. Only because I don’t make this meal at all, and I didn’t want to mess it up. In the movie, the Earth ponies were from Maretime Bay, so immediately fish (or shrimp) tacos was decided on. However, not everyone likes fish (or shrimp) so chicken tacos were a substitute for those individuals. We ordered from a local restaurant and they were yummy! Even for my table surfer dog, Skyler, who managed to grab one when our backs were turned!

One of the new ponies is named Izzy Moonbow and her name was the inspiration for the drink. We came up with our Izzy Fizzy drink. It consisted of sprite, ginger ale, grenadine and some gin for the adults! The girls really enjoyed this one! Tyler for some reason not so much. I thought it was delightful!!

Our dessert was also inspired by one of the ponies in the movie, Sunny Starscout. I made Sunny Lemon Bars and they were delicious. Definitely the perfect amount of sweet and tart! You can easily find a recipe online or even by a box and do it that way! Which I have used them before and they turn out just as delicious.

Comment below what you think of the MLP franchise and if they made a good decision with the new ponies. I know I personally will miss Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy and AppleJack, but I enjoyed the new ponies!
