Men In Black

We typically do our themes in relation to the seasons and now that we have done the fall/Halloween season last year, we need to do different ones this year. The good thing is- there are a lot to choose from and now that the girls are getting older, we have even more. This theme was for the Men in Black movies. I know there are 3 in the original and then a remake, but we only ended up watching the first 2 that weekend. The girls enjoyed them and thought they were funny like Tyler and I do.

We already did an alien theme, so we had to come up with other ideas. So I went to my favorite place, Pinterest and luckily found some good ideas. Some were us having to make and bake and some were us buying the food and putting it together.

We love soft pretzels in this house, but have never made them. So why not make alien soft pretzels! They turned out great and also super yummy! I followed the recipe that I found and had the girls roll out the dough and make the actual pretzels. They had so much fun! After they were baked and ready to be eaten, I added some Queso and olives to complete the alien pretzel! I was super pleased with this and like I said very yummy too!

The next part of the meal was alien burgers. We bought the cheese burgers at Mcd’s and then added the alien eye balls with some more olives. Girls had no idea we got the cheeseburgers, so they thought this was brilliant. Since we knew they would eat it as well, it was even better.

Even though we had all the ingredients to make this drink, it did not turn out at all. It was supposed to be a galaxy drink where blue and purple would separate and make the galaxy effect in the glass. However, it did not work for us as we didn’t blend the ice ( we missed that instruction). So I would recommend that if you want to make this drink. But it does involve: coconut rum, blue curaçao, pineapple juice and the pea flower. The taste was still refreshing and we used Gatorade for the girls blue color.

So I wasn’t too thrilled with how the dessert turned out either. I found a recipe to make alien spaceships, but the cookie never spread as much as it intended. I would have to take them out half way through and manipulate them a bit to actually spread. Even though they did not look how I wanted them to, they at least tasted good! They were a chocolate cookie with peanut butter on the inside.
