This was another Superhero movie with all women casted as the leads, similar to The Marvels which came out last year. Raising two girls, it is great to see women Superheroes as the leads, not just men. In our opinion it was underrated, and it kept our attention throughout the movie. A spider is the reason for the superpower that the main character has, but instead of spider-like qualities, she has clairvoyance and can see into the future. A major difference from the Spiderman movies, which was nice.

So to tie in the superpower containing spider that bites the Mom of the main character in the movie, we made Spider pizzas. We used English muffins as the base and then layered them with sauce, pepperoni and cheese. To top it off, we created spiders with olives. We have made many different types of pizza entrees in our theme dinners, but never one with an English muffin. Everyone enjoyed this and we might have to actually add this to our actually dinners.

The movie setting takes place in NYC, so we decided on having a Madam Web Manhattan. A Manhattan consists of Whiskey, orange bitters and Vermouth with a cherry garnish. These were all items we had, so it was easy to make. For the girls, we just gave them Dr. Pepper we had and topped it with a maraschino cherry. Girls love both, so it went over well!

I am pretty proud of how the dessert came out for this one. To again play off of the spider and specifically the web, we baked a Web cake. I used a basic box cake and just found some ways to make it taste like it was made from scratch on Pinterest. I also found a delicious recipe for ganache to cover the chocolate cake. It was so delicious that I had a ton extra and I couldn't help eating it over the course of the week as a little sugar fix! Once I covered the cake with the ganache, I used some store-bought vanilla buttercream, (I didn't need a lot, so I didn't want to make it myself) and started from the center of the cake, drew a spiral around it in a circular motion. Then I used a toothpick and drew lines from the center down to create the spider web design. It turned out really cool and was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. Plus, all of it together was super yummy!

Hope you enjoy this theme dinner! Looking at all the items we made, this could also be used for a fun Halloween party as well. Comment below what you though or if you tried anything. Enjoy!
