Kung Fu Panda 4

We really enjoy the Kung Fu Panda series and especially Jack Black as Po. But again, do we really need another movie in this series? I am not sure. This movie was cute and in typical fashion had a conflict with some kung fu fighting. The new movie did get us to do a theme for it though, as we haven't done one for any of the previous Kung Fu Panda movies.

For the meal, we went super easy and went to our favorite Chinese place, Panda Express. And yes, we know it has Panda in the name which also could go for the theme, but we go to this place often. We could have tried to make the meal ourself or visit another local Chinese place, but we enjoy this one so why not just go with it. We got everyone's favorite orange chicken, but we also got some Kung Pao to tie in the Kung Fu fighting that Po does.

The plot of this movie was Po becoming the spiritual leader of the Vally of the Peace and now he has to train a new Dragon Warrior. Additionally, he has to battle a powerful sorceress who is trying to steal the Staff of Wisdom. Our drink was based off all the peace talk throughout the movie and we found it in a drink book that we search through occasionally, it is called Internal Peace. Tyler muddled up pineapple and strawberries as instructed, then added chardonnay and limoncello La Croix to it and garnished it with a mint leaf. Unfortunately, the muddled-up fruit took away too much from the drink and wasn't the best. After we took out a bunch of the fruit out, it tasted much better. For the girls drink, we didn't use any of the muddle-up fruit and instead added just cut up pieces to some sparkling grape juice. They enjoyed theirs much more than we did!

For dessert, we baked some Panda Po Cupcakes. Since pandas are black and white, we had chocolate cupcakes with white buttercream. To create the face, we used mini Oreos. We split the Oreos in half and on the side with the cream used an edible marker to draw eyes on them. The cookie was placed on the top for the ears. For the nose and mouth, we cut up a chocolate chip and then added brown sprinkles. They turned out looking like a panda and they were just as yummy to eat!

Thanks for reading along on this themed night dinner. Even though we didn't make the dinner, everything turned out great! I also really love when the girls help with some in the kitchen, either with the drinks or the cooking/baking. Hopefully, they will be able to feel comfortable when they are adults! Comment below what you thought about the new Kung Fu Panda movie.
