I love springtime- the warmer weather, chirping birds and all the blooming flowers. And you can’t forget Easter and the Easter Bunny! So what better than to watch the movie Hop. I think it is an underrated children’s movie. It has a great cast. super funny and has a good message of following your own dreams- not what your parents want you to do! So this movie is about EB who doesn’t want to be the Easter bunny like his dad and instead he wants to be a drummer! Well EB meets Fred who has no direction in life and the two have to save Easter. Many funny scenes throughout and we are always laughing!

This theme dinner was actually Easter weekend, so the day started with decorating Easter eggs. But to start the theme night and feed our hungry bunnies after a long day, we had some carrots and dip! Something very simple and we always have around the house.

Now when I think of the movie Hop and food, all I get are eggs and jelly beans and if you seen the movie you don’t want to eat the jelly beans! So we decided on making our own egg sandwiches or hard boiled eggs for the girls! The hard boiled eggs were even the ones they painted that morning. Well the egg sandwiches turned out delicous- I somehow made the eggs so light and fluffy. I added chedder cheese and bacon to our sandwiches, while the girls ate the extra bacon. I really wanted to make and eat another but I refrained!

As much as I loved our egg sandwiches, I loved our drink even more! We made our own Peeptini and it was delicious! This cocktail was lemoncillo and vodka with our very own peep. Tyler kept calling his the Drunken Peep!! The girls had lemonade topped off with a peep as well. Also fun fact: I grew up in the same town where these are made and we use to get them free.

Since I was making Easter dinner the next day with all the trimmings, I didn’t really want to bake for this theme. We decided to pick up Crumble Cookies which happen to have Easter cookies. There was Carrot Cake, Iced Oatmeal, Cadberry Eggs and Caramel Chocolate Chip. The way we eat these at our house is we divide each cookie up in fourths and try each one and rate them. they usually are all delicious, but there is always one that is better than another. My favorite this time was the Carrot Cake!

Hope you all enjoyed your Easter this year! It was a lot better for us than last in which we socially distanced, wore masks, and hung outside, but at least saw the grandparents. Plus the Easter Bunny brought some cool baskets. Comment below what your thoughts are on Peeps or tell me what your favorite Easter Candy is?
