Hocus Pocus 2

This was a highly anticipated movie in my house, as well as, probably most adults who grew up watching the this movie around Halloween. We have already done a Hocus Pocus theme dinner on the first movie, but we didn't care and wanted to do it again. We actually made sure not to duplicate what we did and I think it turned out just as good as the first one. The movie also was really good with some modernization but also had hints of nostalgia. And again this was a theme that the girls had a hand in for both the dinner portion and dessert, which I think they enjoy!

I really live when the girls dress up for our themes and going back through pictures from this night- I found this gem of the girls doing a picture shoot of Jules flying on different types of brooms including the vacuum. This was really looked like she was flying, so I thought it would be fun to add in.

For the main meal, we decided on making Sanderson Sisters Witch hats calzones! We seem to revolve our theme dinners around pizza or similar foods, but with the girls, it usually is a hit. We followed https://jeanniestriedandtruerecipes.com/halloween-witch-hat-calzones/ recipe for these hats. We just took two triangles crescent rolls and filled them with a cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese and bits of pepperoni. Then we also cut up some more pepperoni into triangles and made a border for the rims. Again girls made the witch hats and really enjoyed eating them as well! As did the adults!

We also had some fun with fruit we had on hand. Out of pomegranate, we had childrens teeth and also had eye of newt out of melon. The girls thought it was fun!

We did a variation on a Hocus Pocus Amuk drink that we found on Pinterest. It was a mixture of pineapple juice, orange juice, Smirnoff Green Apple Vodka and Cutwater Dark Rum and blue curaçao. The girls had both the juices as well as some green and blue Gatorade to get that matching color!

For desert we did Winifred's BOOOOOKKKKk Brownies. I remember seeing similar desserts while doing research for the theme dinner on the first movie. Since we ended up not doing it for that theme, I figured it would be great for the sequel. We have a favorite brownie mix in the Ghirardelli Brownie mix, so they girls baked those. Once those were baked, the girls decorated them to make them look like Book from the movie. I made a small batch of buttercream and dyed it black, then they created the book binding with it and added an eye. Turned out cute and these Brownies were delicious!

I hope you enjoyed watching Hocus Pocus 2 as well as reading about what we did for this themed dinner. Comment below what you thought of the movie and if it was worth the wait!
