Hitch

Most of our theme dinners are fun movies that we all want to see but some have a bit more backstory to them. Hitch is one that has some backstory. It was actually the movie that Tyler and I watched on our first date. Despite an ill timed kiss (all Tyler) and me falling asleep during the movie, it is still one of our favorite movies. In fact Juliet even gets here middle name, Allegra, from this movie. I still think Tyler may have had some help from Hitch during our first date.

The main meal for this one was easy since there is one particularly memorable meal where Hitch, Will Smith's character, and Sara, Eva Mendez's character, get into a big fight over a misunderstanding of what Hitch does for a living. The intended meal for that dinner was Chicken Risotto, so it was the actual meal for our dinner. We even had the salad, though we did not throw it at each other, fortunately. Overall it was a very good meal that even the girls enjoyed.

For the drink, we had a some options like the martini that Sara is drinking when she and Hitch first meet or a beer when Sara and Hitch are in the bar at the same time but don't meet. Instead though, we went with some flavored bubbly and called it the Love Doctor since this theme seems more like a celebration to us and is what Hitch is referenced as throughout the movie. The girls drink just had flavored bubbly in the form of an ICEE but I think they enjoyed theirs as much as we did.

The dessert was another direct pull from the movie and the line, "I figure if my heart stops it wouldn't hurt so much". Nothing quite does that for you but what Albert was enjoying in this scene after he lost Allegra was Krispy Kreme donuts. That is a lot of love from Albert but I think the girls loved the dessert about as much.

Comment below what you think of the movie and our fun theme! It's always enjoyable to get the girls to watch movies that we likesms before them!
