If you haven’t noticed, the Marvel Universe and related movies are one of our favorites for movie night themed dinners. Since we started doing these theme dinners after the first and second Guardian’s movie came out, we were happy to be able to do it on the third one. I will say that this third movie pulls on your heartstrings with Rocket’s back story scenes, but overall we enjoyed it immensely! I also think the themed dinner turned out as fun as the Guardians are.

One of my favorite Marvel characters is Groot, even though he doesn’t say much in most movies, that we can understand, he definitely makes a statement! What better than to pay homage to him than by making one big Groot Calzone. To do this, we took two pizza crusts and shaped them into Groots face. Then stuffed the calzone with sauce, cheese and pepperoni. Once it was closed up, we then added the seasoning and Groot facial pieces to the top. Then baked him! Everyone loved it even though we could have done a couple of tweaks to make it even better. Regardless, the girls gobbled it up.

Without going into many specifics about the movie, the one villian of the movie is named Adam Warlock. He was specifically created to take out the Guardians of the Galaxy and he has shimmery gold skin. We based our drink after him. It consisted of Prosecco, St.Germain’s Elderflower, Sprite and some gold edible sugar dust. For the girls, we got a Sparkling Cider to replace the alcohol. Both turned out super cool and sparkly, just like Adam Warlock.

Our dessert was Guardians of the Galaxy Brownies! It was combination of brownies and blondies (which was dyed) mixed together to create a galaxy. I used a boxed brownie mix, but we made the blondie from scratch. After the blondie batter was made and dyed into the colors we wanted, it was mixed and swirled into the top of brownie batter. Then sprinkles were added next and then baked. Turned out colorful and who doesn’t like brownies and blondies! My girls certainly did!

I really hope you enjoyed this themed dinner as much as we did! I loved our Groot pizza and the yummy Galaxy brownies. Comment below if you you tried it. Until next time!
