Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Neither myself nor Tyler were ever Dungeons and Dragon card game players, but we knew enough to enjoy the new D&D movie. The plot about a group of thieves to go on an adventure to find a lost relic was a clever way to use elements from the card game and turn it into a movie. Overall, we actually thought the movie was funny and entertaining! The choices for the actors/actresses in the movie were spot on and I think helped make it. I also think the movie themed dinner we did for D&D was fun and easy to accomplish!

Throughout the movie, there are many scenes with one character, Holga and her love of potatoes. So we encorporated them into a delicious beef stew. The stew could be eaten in a bread bowl, as some choose, or not depending on the liking. But all the ingredients for the stew were placed in the crockpot early in the day and ready by movie time! Everyone gobbled it up and I think this meal fit well with the time setting of the movie.

The villian in the movie is called the Red Wizard, so our drink was inspired by them. It was mainly Cherry 7 Up blended with ice and mixed with some Pink Lemonade Vodka. The girls only had the slushee Cherry 7 Up. I think we could have made this a little more red, but it was still refreshing!

I really loved our dessert for this themed dinner. We made our very own D&D Gelatinous Cube. A Gelatinous Cube in the movie is actually more terrifying than what it sounds like. But we turned it into a yummy dessert! We made blue raspberry Jell-O cubes and added some raspberries and blueberries to it. If so desired, you can also add whipped cream on top. This was a kid and adult approved dessert!

Hope you enjoyed this themed dinner! Overall, everything was great, including the movie. Plus I always like when the meal, drink and dessert are easy to make and don’t take much time. Comment below what you thought!
