Raise your hand if you are someone who watches the original A Christmas Story movie on repeat on Christmas Day like me? Christmas morning can be hectic and full of excitement, however, I always have this movie playing the background. So when I saw that there was going to be a sequel of sorts to this, I knew it had to be a themed dinner! The movie itself was entertaining, but certainly not the iconic original.

When we were coming up with ideas for this movie, we were unsure at first of what to do, but thankfully our gut to go off the original movie was perfect! Luckily in both movies, there was a meal centered around a turkey. So instead of making an actual turkey, we changed it up just a bit and had turkey pot pies. The girls love the frozen Marie Callender ones you can get at the store. We went with those and as expected, the girls gobbled it up.

For the drink, we made Triple Dare Ya Drink and if you re not a fan of Mezcal than I Triple Dog Dare you to try this drink. Not one of my faves as the Mezcal overpowered the drink with its smokiness. This drink had Mezcal, Tequila, Lime juice, Agave Syrup and Pear Juice. The girls only had pear juice and sprite. But the topper was the best of all. My mom gave us a silicone mold for stars to maybe use for a theme at some point and this turned out to be the perfect one. So if you remember the original Christmas Story (or watched the new one as it has a similar scene), a child gets his tongue stuck on a frozen pole as a double dare. Well we made ice stars and pretended to get our tongues stuck in them! Super fun and kids loved the interactive part!

And of course we went with the expected 'Oh Fudge' dessert. We actually used Tyler's grandmothers recipe which we haven't made in a long time. Kyrie helped make this with Tyler. Last time we made this, it turned out a little dry, but this time it turned out delicious!

Hope your enjoyed the theme dinner and tried it for yourself while watching either of the Christmas Story movies! Thanks again for stopping by!
